On the above date at approx 15:00hrs, Station 23, Station 17 (Five Points), New Castle County Paramedics, and Delaware State police was dispatched to Interstate 95 south bound in the area of Newport Industrial Park for a MVC with entrapment. Chief 238-b (Elliott), on his way home from work was on the interstate and immediately went responding. Moments later Chief 238-b arrived to find a two vehicle MVC, both vehicles off the road in the marsh confirming heavy entrapment. Rescue 23 responded under command of 238-c (Lindell) with the crew of Ffr Haines, Ffr Pollinger, and FFr Satterfield. Rescue 23 and Rescue 17 arrived on scene simultaneously and crews immediately went to work to remove one trapped patient. Approx 45 mins later, the patient was freed from the vehicle and transported to Christiana Hospital as a Trauma code by B-17 and Medic 7. Both rescue crews worked hard together to remove glass, doors, roof and B-Post of the vehicle. Chief 238 (Young) was the incident Command.
