Rescue Runs 22 House Fire
Wednesday, March 7, 2018

On 03/07/2018 just after midnight, Station 23 along with Units from Station 12 (Christiana) and New Castle County Paramedics were dispatched to Interstate 95 S/B in the area of West Basin Road (141) for an MVC with a vehicle overturned and reported subjects trapped.  Ambulance, Rescue, and Chief 23 quickly responded.  Station 23 units arrived and found a single vehicle overturned, and all occupants were out of the vehicle.  A23 transported one patient to CER and the remaining units cleared.

Shortly after returning to quarters, Station 22 along with surrounding units were alerted to the 300 block of Wildel Avenue in Minquadale for a reported house on fire.  Having a crew in quarters, Rescue 23 and Chief 23 added onto the call.  Engine 22 arrived and reported fire showing.  Rescue 23 arrived as the first special service and split the crew.  The inside team conducted searches of the residence and opened up for the Engine company while the outside team placed ladders and assisted with ventilation.  Ambulance 23 provided EMS coverage for the fire.  Station 23 units operated for around 2 hours before being released by command.

Members handled a total of 17 fire type calls through the course of the storm.
