Two Fires for Company 23

On Friday 04/05/2019 just after 0600hrs, Rescue 23 was dispatched to assist Station 21 on a residential fire in the 2100 block of Jackson avenue in Marshallton.  Engine 21 arrived and reported smoke showing from a single family dwelling.  Rescue 23 arrived as the second due special service and assisted in conducting searches of the residence.  Rescue 23 operated for around an hour before being released by command.

Just before 0800hrs, Engine 23 was dispatched to assist Station 19 on a residential fire, Squad 23 quickly responded.  Initial arriving units from station 19 reported smoke showing.  Squad 23 arrived as the third due engine and assisted with fire suppression.  Crews worked to control fire in the basement and first floor.  Squad 23 operated for around 2 hours before being released by command.

Just after 1000hrs, Engine 23 was again dispatched to assist Station 21, this time on a motorhome on fire in the 900 block of Kiamensi Road.  Squad 23 arrived first, secured a water supply and stretched a handline to extinguish an RV on fire along with rubbish.  Squad 23 operated for around an hour before being released by command.

The company stayed busy throughout the day running several car crashes, box alarms, and a car fire in addition to the above reported incidents.
