On the above date, just before 0315hrs while Rescue Company 23 was operating at the "working" mobile home fire in Station 21's area, Stations 3,6, and 12 (Christiana) along with Station 23 and New Castle County Paramedics were alerted to respond to Interstate 95 at Christiana Road for an Accident reported with entrapment. Rescue 23 was able to free themselves from the fire and respond to the accident with a crew of 5 under the command of Captain Mills. Rescue Engine 23 also hit the street under the command of Senior Fireman Martin. Crews arrived to find a single vehicle accident with no entrapment. Ambulance 12 transported to the Christiana Hospital.
Later in the morning, around 0445hrs Station 23 along with Station 22 and New Castle County Paramedics were alerted to Interstate 495 at Interstate 95 for a vehicle accident with a roll over. Rescue Engine 23 Under the command of Captain Mills and Ambulance 23 responded. Rescue Engine 23 arrived and found one vehicle which had rolled over and was resting on a guard rail. One patient had self extricated prior to fire department arrival and was evaluated by EMS. Fire Station 23 units cleared shortly after.
