On the above date, just before 1100hrs, Station 23 was alerted for the RIT as a part of the "working alarm" assignment. Within minutes, Rescue Engine 23 with a crew of 6 under the command of Captain Mills responded. Fire Chief 21 arrived and reported a two story single family dwelling with fire showing. Engine 14 arrived next, secured a water supply and began stretching an attack line. Rescue Engine 23 arrived seconds later and was directed by command to stretch a second supply line and stretch a back up hand line. The crew split, the first half stretching two hand-lines to assist with fire suppression, and the other half performing a primary search of the second floor. Crews found fire in the attached garage, first floor, and the attic area and extinguished the same. Rescue Engine 23 operated for over 2 hours before being released by command. A special thanks to Aston Township Engine 17 (Delaware County, PA) for covering our local while the Rescue Engine operated at the fire.
