Engine Runs 28 Building Fire
Friday, May 15, 2015

On the above date just before 0300hrs Station 23 was alerted for an Engine to assist Newark on a reported commercial building fire.  Units arrived and investigated a slight haze in the building which was traced back to a malfunctioning HVAC unit.

At around 0430hrs, Station 23 was again alerted for an Engine, this time to assist Station 28 on a commercial building fire.  Engine 235 with a crew of 6 under the command of Captain Mills quickly responded.  The first arriving units from 28 found two trailers on fire with exposure to the building.  Engine 235 arrived and stretched a back-up line to help with extinguishing the fire.  Minimal extension to the roof area of the building was found and crews extinguished the same.  Engine 23 operated for around an hour before being released by command.
