On the above date at approx 0730 hrs, Minquas Fire Company along with neighboring companies were alerted to the Silview Neighborhood for a reported house fire. Engine 235 with a crew of 4 under command of Firefighter Hamm, responded within minutes. Moments later, captain Johnson (23C2) arrived and reported fire showing from rear of residence. Upon arrival of Engine 235, crew began advancing a line before being pushed back due to massive amounts of ammunition exploding in the residence. Deputy 23 (Lindell) arrived and assumed command. Command advised all incoming units of no entry into the residence and to assume a defensive position. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down, crews advanced lines into the residence for extinguishment.
Great job by all those involved, and special thanks to Delco Engine 17 for the engine cover.
