Rescue Company Runs 2nd Alarm Apartment Fire
Friday, April 10, 2015

On the above date just after 1000 hrs, Station 23 was alerted on the second alarm to Newark for an apartment building fire with subjects trapped.  Rescue 23 quickly responded with 9 personnel under the command of Fire Chief Dierolf.  Rescue 23 arrived and split the crew in half, the first half assisted with placing ground ladders and checking the roof, while the interior crew assisted with opening up checking for fire extension on the second and third floors.  Rescue 23 operated for around 2 hours before being released by command.  Special thanks to Delaware County Engine 40 for covering our local while we operated at the fire.
