Company 23 handles Large Field Fire

On the above date around 1500 hours, Station 23 was alerted for an outside fire on the 200 block of Cleveland Ave. in the Westview Community. Fire Chief Dierolf and Rescue Engine 23-6 responded with a crew of 3 under the command of FF/EMT Roush. On arrival crews found a large wooded area on fire behind residents on Atkinson Rd. Command the requested an additional Engine and Field Pieces to assist. The Fire was contained and put under control within 3 hours. Also assisting was Squirt 30 (Belvedere) ,Engine 17-5 (Five Points), 21-1 (Mill Creek), 22-0 (Minquadale), and 14-0 (Cranston Heights).
