On the above date, a graduation ceremony was held for 4 of our members from the New Castle County Volunteer Fire Academy hosted by the Delaware State Fire School. During their 8 weeks of training, the recruits attended classes every Tuesday and Thursday along with every other Saturday. They learned various topics from Structural Firefighting, Hazardous Materials, EMS, and Vehicle Rescue. The training was tough, and included a traditional Academy setting of discipline, and Physical Training, along with a hands on and classroom training portions. Through the training the recruits were able to achieve Firefighter 1&2 Certifications.
