On the above date, at around 1430hrs, Engine 23 was alerted to assist Christiana Fire Company on a Residential Fire in the 600 block of Old Baltimore Pike. Engine 23 with a crew of 5 under the command of Assistant Chief Mills quickly responded. Deputy Chief 9 (Newark) arrived and reported fire showing from a single family dwelling. Engine 23 arrived as the 4th due engine, secured a secondary water supply and stretched a back-up line to the rear of the structure to assist the units from 12 with suppression efforts. Engine 23's crew assisted with some overhaul before being released by command. Engine 23 operated for around 60 minutes.
