Rescue and Ambulance 23 Handle Crash with Rollover

On 02/27/2017 at around 2320hrs,  Station 23 along with NCC Paramedics were alerted to the area of the Sheraton Hotel for a crash with a vehicle overturned.  Rescue and Ambulance 23 quickly responded.  Rescue and Ambulance 23 arrived to find a single vehicle crash with a vehicle on its side.  The driver of the vehicle self extricated prior to fire department arrival.  The driver initially reported that he had a child with him in the vehicle at the time of the crash, this brought Delaware State Police Aviation to assist with an area search.  It was later determined that the driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle and units cleared.  Deputy Chief Harvey Jr. had the "Newport Command."
