Around 2000 hours on Saturday, May 12, Rescue and Squad 23, with a total staffing of 8, responded to the unit block of Doe Run Court for the working apartment building fire. As the first due Engine arrived, the assignment was upgraded to a second alarm. Upon arrival, the Rescue crew searched the fire floor and opened up for the Engine Companies. The Squad crew was initially the RIT but was placed inservice assisting with overhaul. The fire was held to two units in the apartment building, and 23 crews were in quarters by 2200 hours. This is the second two-alarm apartment building fire that the company has responded to in a week.
