Throughout Memorial Day weekend (5/25-5/28) our members were kept busy, handling 15 calls for service, and completing a full detail of Engine 23. The runs included six motor vehicle collisions, three outside fires, one fire alarm, and five EMS responses. One of the motor vehicle collisions involved a total of eight vehicles, and required a hazardous materials response before being placed under control. In between calls, Engine 23 recieved a full wash and wax, and all of the chrome was polished, in preperation for its return as the first responding pumper on Friday, June 1st. The Squad and Engine alternate as the first out pumpers to ensure limited wear and tear on the apparatus.
