On Sunday, June 28, five instructors from Capital Fire Training traveled to Station 23 to hold a "down and dirty" forcible entry class. The class consisted of both a classroom portion and a practical portion, utilizing many different props and tools. While the class was being held; Acting Squad 23 (Darby Fire Company #1 Engine 4) and Acting Engine 23 (First West Chester Fire Company Engine 51-2) handled five calls. These runs included a two box alarms, a crash, a medical, and a fire alarm. Prior to the class; Rescue 23 handled three car crashes, one being a rollover in 30's local, and a fuel spill. The company ended the day with twelve total fire runs, finishing the night off with a working residential fire in 14's area (see seperate story).
