Rescue and Engine Run 22 House Fire

At 1334 hours on Saturday, June 30, New Castle County Fireboard dropped the box for the report of smoke coming from the roof of a house in the 400 block of Bethune Drive, 22's local. Rescue 23 (Hamm) responded on dispatch, and arrived first with smoke showing from the attic space in the rear. The Rescue crew was joined by crews from Ladder 28 and Ladder 18, utilzing a garden hose and multiple water cans to hold the fire in check until an Engine Company arrived. Engine 23 (Martin Jr.) was added to the assignment as a replacement unit, and provided manpower. Both 23 units cleared the scene in approximately 90 minutes.
