At 1439 hours on Sunday, July 1, Station 22 was dispatched to the Lowe's Department Store on Hessler Boulevard for the commercial fire alarm. Chief 22-8 arrived shortly after dispatch and reported a fire in the rear of the building, as the assignment was upgraded. Engine 22-3 stretched a 1.75" to the rear and extinguished fire in a rear storage area. Engine 23 (Harvey Jr.) responded as a replacement engine company, and staged on the alpha side at a hydrant, while the crew assisted with securing utlities and ventilation. The Engine was sent to cover Station 28 by command after approximately 30 minutes onscene, and was on location at 28 for 30 minutes.
