At 0431 hours on Friday, October 19, Station 23 was alerted to assist Station 21 on a trailer fire in the Murray Manor Trailer Park. Squad 23 and Engine 23 responded with four members each, and arrived shortly behind 21 and 14 units to find fire showing. Both crews assisted with searches, fire suppression, and ventilation. The fire was placed under control in approximately 30 minutes, and units returned to quarters in approximately 90. The Squad and Engine also operated at a reported residential fire in 17's area a few hours prior, units arrived as the first and second due engine companies, and no fire was found.
At 0930 hours both crews traveled to the Richey Elementary School for a fire prevention event. Members educated approximately 450 students on different fire prevention topics, and the event lasted for three hours.
