Once again, the Newport Volunteers participated in multiple training events throughout the week, focusing on different topics and reviews everyday. On Wednesday, February 13, two crews gathered in quarters for the weekly duty crew, and reviewed haul systems and directional changes as part of our Rescue Company operations. This was followed by a review of the new SOP's that went into effect, countywide, on Friday. This brings a change to our operations on the fireground, and also while in quarters. Members maintained a minimum staffing of four dedicated fire personnel throughout the week. On Friday, February 15, five members staffed the Squad and met with members of Station 14 to drill on Engine Company operations. This included the introduction of pump training for a few of our younger members, as well as 14's future operators. This was a great oppurtunity to work with one of our neighboring companies, and we look forward to more time spent working together in the future!
