On Thursday 04/25/2019 just before 0200hrs, Station 23 was alerted for an Engine to assist Station 17 on a residential fire for smoke in the house. Engine and Rescue 23 hit the street quickly. While units were responding, the assignment was redispatched as a working fire after the Fireboard received several calls for a house on fire with possible subjects trapped. Engine 23 arrived as the first engine, split laid from the corner and reported fire showing from a single family dwelling and a victim in the front yard. Engine 23's crew placed a handline in service and began fire suppression. Rescue 23 arrived as the first special service and went to work laddering the structure and completing searches. Station 23 units operated for around 2 hours before being released by command.
