Two Crashes for Engine and Rescue 23
Wednesday, April 8, 2015

Just after 2020hrs, Station 23 was alerted along with Stations 3,6, and 12 (Christiana) for an MVC on Interstate 95 just north of Route 273.  Engine 235 with a crew of 6 under the command of Engine Captain Mills, and Rescue 23 with a crew of 6 under the command of Assistant Chief Harvey Jr quickly responded.  Station 23 units arrived to find a single vehicle MVC with one injury.  The single patient was transported to Christiana ER by Ambulance 12, and Engine and Rescue 23 cleared the scene.

While returning from the original incident, Stations 28 and 32 along with Ambulance 22 and NCC paramedics were alerted to Basin road in the Area of Washington Avenue for an MVC with entrapment.  Due to the severity of the dispatched incident and the close proximity of both Engine and Rescue 23 to the call the decision was made to respond to the incident.  Rescue Engine 28 arrived and reported negative entrapment.  The crews of Engine and Rescue 23 assisted with patient care and debris clean up before clearing.
