Rescue and Engine Run First Due Commercial Fire

On Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at around 0830 hours, Station 23 was alerted for a reported building fire in the 400 Block of Old Airport Rd. Engine 23 and Rescue 23 responded quickly after dispatch. Chief 23 arrived to find a large commercial building fully involved, with multiple exposures. Upon arrival, Engine 23 dropped a supply line and placed multiple lines inservice on the original fire building. Rescue 23 arrived shortly after and assisted with suppression efforts. The assignment eventually included multiple special calls, including a tanker task force. Units from various agencies, counties, and even states operated, and 23 units returned to quarters in approximately 3 hours.
