Engine Handles Van on Fire

On the above date just before 1220, Station 23 was alerted for an automobile fire on East Ayre street.  Engine 235 with a crew of 4 under the command of Fire Chief Dierolf quickly responded.  23 Captain 1, Mills, arrived to find a commercial van well involved with fire.  Engine 235 arrived and quickly deployed the front bumper line and extinguished the fire.  Units were on the scene for around 30 minutes.  

While returning from the fire, Station 23 was alerted to assist Stations 2 and 21 on a residential gas odor.  Engine 235, and Rescue 23 made the response.  Crews arrived and found no odor so all units cleared the scene.
