On the above date at around 0700 hours, Station 23 was alerted to assist Station 3, 6, and 12 (Christiana) on a MVC with heavy entrapment at the intersection of Christiana Rd. and Airport Rd. Rescue 23 responded with 6 men under the command of FF D. Haines. On arrival crews assisted with stabilizing the truck that was on top of a car. The crew then assisted with removing the car from under the truck and helped extricate the patient. Unfortunately the patient in the car was pronounced dead after arriving to the hospital. Rescue Engine 28 (Wilmington Manor), Rescue 14 (Cranston Heights), NCC Paramedics and Delaware State Fire Police also assisted. The scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police.
